Count Catula

The hot, sultry summer days are here. That means it's time to brainstorm some Halloween-y puzzle themes. What's a three-letter word for "Gray Halloween critter"?  A BAT or a CAT or both . . . it's Count Catula!

"The hot, sultry summer days are here" - for some. Us in the Southern hemisphere are gripped in a (by our standards) icy winter, with temperatures in the 20s Farenheit!

Cute cat, guessing not yours? (But not a cat person, a dog type, but recently been bonding with friend's super-crazy-addicted-to-paper rabbit)

Or at least this part of it is...

Oooh . . . 20 Farenheit sounds icy and cool! NYC is hitting 100+ F today, but I'm probably used to the hot temps, having taught tennis at a beach club during college summer breaks. It was like working in a furnace for 10 hours a day.

Our dog slept on his back, but his legs angled off in wild directions. The YouTube cat (not mine, alas) looks oddly human, or vampiric. Our pets are endlessly fascinating, aren't they?
